I very much doubt it but if you are going to have it installed & serviced by an engineer then maybe they would know of someone who could do it.

I’ve always carted them around myself, to and from exhibitions and/or customer sites. There’s really not a lot to it to be honest, but maybe that’s just because I’ve done loads of them.

I recently had a car picked up from a friend of mine and bought back to me as it had no engine and used a site called anyvan.com. The process was easy and the driver was professional and punctual and kept me updated every step of the way. Try singing up and getting them to quote you. You’ll be surprised at how cheap they are.

didnt think about installation, thought it would be pretty simple to set up, but ive never owned a printer before only plotters so never set one up before.

are they difficult to set up and need an engineer to come out and do it or is it straight forward enough to do myself?

thanks Stafford will try them now

    🙂

Depends on a number of factors, what machine, when it was last run what you are actually getting with the printer rip wise.
Not as simple as something like an epson desktop printer so your level of experience/knowledge makes a big difference if buying a used machine

….also, how big is the printer, does it need to go round any bends to get to its destination, is it ground floor, do you have suitable power and data supply, do you need extraction…..?

If you can post up some more information on what you’re looking at buying, I should be able to let you know what’s needed.

Funny you should mention some of those things Stafford, my unit was far to cold for the printer for most of the year being in Scotland so it was moved to the bedroom of my flat, just not prepared to say in how many pieces :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

    I dread to think!! :lol1: :lol1:

It’s amazing what environmental variances can do to the viscosity of the ink. A wise engineer once said, if you have to keep your jacket on to work on the machine, it’s too cold an environment for the ink!!

the printer is a uniform cadet 540, i am getting a small unit in the week, i would have liked to have it at home to begin but its too long to get around my landing as its a tight corner to go through the door 🙄

software is versaworks, and the machine has been stood since about christmas i think, i presume its been drained but unsure? 🙄

The Cadets are a good machine. I would like to think it has been drained of too as it may cause some problems when you fire it up again if not.

The head assembly on the Uniform (Roland) machines of that age lock in to the capping station so you probably wouldn’t even need to put a head clamp on.

    great 🙂

would it be simple enough to set up for a novice? 🙂

Again, it really depends on condition. If it’s all ready to go then it shouldn’t be too difficult. Once you’ve got it, post up in the Uniform section and you’ll more than likely get the help you need 😉
