I’m sure that you’ve all been there.

You have a client give you his vehicle details, produce artwork, several discussions back and forth. Final approval of the design. Cut/print in advance. All prepared.

Then when the van turns up. Different wheelbase – arrgh.

It’s amazing how many traders have no idea what the full model details are of their wheels.L1 – L2………or bother to closely check the given artwork against their actual vehicle.

You can have a disclaimer written if you like to cover the extra work to replace the materials and the cost of the lost time etc but it’s still hugely frustrating.

Anyone know of a good way to check vehicle details before they come in? I’ve tried the number plate sites that supposedly give you details but they never seem to give you the actual wheelbase or even overall weight – which at least would help.

Grateful for any thoughts on this one guys.

    Tim

It happens a lot, I’m sure some are just chancers hoping that they get a better price by describing a van that is smaller than in reality. I often ask for a photo to be sent for me to correctly identify the vehicle if there is any doubt.

We do the same as Phil, photo of vehicle required required!

Had this issue before with Transit / Transit Custom confusion by customer.

      Cheers David.

Spot on . That’s the first reverse look-up I’ve tried that gives all of the details.
