Depends on the RIP software you’re running.

you’ve got to name a colour and use it for the outlines…specific ‘name’ for different RIPS

Still cant sort out cut outlines I had a guide that detailed that and how to step by step with Corel X3 , unfortunately my PDF conversions from sign wizard only work with X6 and all the menus are different to X3 I tried as best I could but no outline cuts , I am trying to cit a group of circular decals but at a dead end now 🙁

Carl, Try exporting as .eps file.

Carl, If that doesn’t work check what level eps your software has. I’m sure you need level 3. I don’t use either of the software you do, I use signlab & had to upgrade to a newer version to have level 3 eps(among other things).

Thanks I did export as an EPS which comes up fine with Corel X6 just not sure how to identify the outline as I only have the tutorial for X3

Sorry If I am sounding a bit dumb here but I have tried numerous things but cannot get a cut line around each individual circular decals

You need to create a spot colour in corel and call it "CutContour" (if your rip is Versaworks) or "Cutpath" (if using wasatch). Note the name of the spot colour is case sensitive so assign it exactly as shown above.

Then, to allow your rip to recognise the contour that is to be cut. right click this colour in corel to the outline you wish to assign for cutting. Save the file as an .eps and open in in your RIP software (ensure you have checked the "process cutting path" box in your rip before you open the .eps file. The cutting contour will show up as "marching ants"

Yes – Any vector drawing is made up of a series of contours. Right click the outermost contour to assign the cut path to. If printing rendered images you will need to draw a vector graphic around the perimeter of the image in order to assign a cut path
