  • Advice needed on purchasing a New Mimaki or Roland printer?

We are newish to signage and will be bringing in a Mimacki CJV130 or a Roland
VS540 at the end of the month. Both will be on the ECO inks.

Any advice on the machines choice happily accepted.

Any advise on dealers to avoid also gratefully accepted LOL.

Both are excellent machines in my opinion. Best thing to do is get a demo on both and see which one suits you the most, then look about for the best deals.

    Best of luck.

We have the test prints from both machines and not a great deal in it.

Seems Mimaki are good on price. just have to get the config right, thinking eco inks with CMYK LM LC 2x white, as we don’t need the speed of 4/4 at the moment.

A few people have told me not to bother with metallic and another said the white was not great. I want the white for backing on to view out window graphics and for dark T’s. my worry is it wont be up to the job and i will have to back window graphics with white vinyl. will have to see on that one.

I may put off ordering so i can get a full demo with the substrates and white ink for windows and T’s.

I wouldn’t bother with white ink for t shirts as the media you print onto is white not clear

We do a Crystal Clear textile vinyl Jason, so there are some available.
