  • satin or matt laminate? Or matt vinyl print?

Posted by Lorraine Clinch on 8 November 2012 at 16:45

Hi, I am printing black-board panels, and don’t know of the matt-effect will be gained best by printing onto matt vinyl, or using either a matt or a satin laminate. I have done a trial print with a sample of satin, but I don’t have any matt available to compare.
What would you more experienced printers use? This is all for indoor use.

    Thanks
    Lorraine

Matt and gloss are surface effects. It is the top surface that matters, if you print on matt and then laminate with gloss you will get a glossy surface.

Rob, sorry should have explained better, I am printing printing a blackboard effect and text onto vinyl.
Simon, yes, I should have thought of that myself 🙄
Martin, thanks, I will order some matt laminate.
