Hi
Been lurking for a while – posted a couple of times now so thought it was time I said hello.
Unlike most of you I’m not a sign bod – I’ve been working in litho printing for the same firm since leaving school some 15 years ago. Started of finishing, then running a machine and went on to film planning then got in to the Mac & PC stuff as that came in. Also a stint as a scanner operator and am now managing the place while still keeping my hand in with the pre-press stuff. (I make tea and coffee too 😀 )
Looking towards the future I have recently set up my own digital print outfit doing short-run leaflets, brochures, business cards etc.
As I still have a ‘proper job’ the digital thing is an evenings and weekends affair and it is going really well.
Luckily my boss is fine about the whole thing.When I’m not working or spending time with my family I like messing about with electronics, home automation, programming and general nerdy type stuff.
(this is turning in to a bloody C.V!)
Anyway, I found this board while looking for info on t-shirt printing. I’ve since got together a sublimation setup and have discovered many more ways to spend my money 😮
The sign stuff looks really interesting and I’m thinking of getting a small vinyl cutter for sticker & t-shirt work – there will be questions 😉That’s about it really. Probably more than you need to know but nothing incriminating.
